In beds we suggest
applying a mulch every three years to discourage weeds, provide nutrition to
plants, and improve general appearence. Some perennials in beds need dividing every 3-5 years to maintain vigour. This is an opportunity to divide and multiply, adding perennials where appropriate to increase seasonal interest. Ornamental ferns and grasses can also add character and tie in the landscape to its west coast context.
